A.J. Brown goes hard at Titans beat writer to defend Josh Reynolds

August 10, 2021 by Titans Wire Leave a Comment

Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown took to Twitter to strongly defend his teammate, fellow wideout Josh Reynolds, after beat writer Paul Kuharsky had a critique of him during practice on Monday.

Kuharsky tweeted “Josh Reynolds does not look explosive to me,” while also providing a clip of the wide receiver doing a drill in Tennessee’s 10th session of training camp.

It’s important to note that this was Reynolds’ third practice back after missing a week due to an undisclosed injury. Kuharsky did provide that context an hour after his original tweet, but it looks like Brown might have missed it or didn’t care because he still went after Kuharsky in a now-deleted tweet.

Context: certainly JR is coming back from something. Other guys going harder, making sharper cuts. Particularly deeper into this clip. pic.twitter.com/nMKnKJQTMb

“Ima say this as nice as I can … NOBODY asked for your (expletive) opinion,” Brown tweeted. “He’s probably working though something like everyone else is in camp. I’ll probably get in trouble for this but I don’t even care. Need to learn some respect. Fast!!”

Kuharsky has since responded:

@1kalwaysopen_ Just FYI, I quickly added context with a second tweet and wanted to make sure you also saw that one, below. Opinion is part of my job and I always try to be fair but honest.https://t.co/PvfPU9yUrI

Brown is usually one of the more positive, fun-loving follows on Twitter, so seeing him get worked up like this is an outlier.

We can understand it, though. Context is important in this case and Kuharsky providing that in his original tweet might have avoided setting Brown off.

Whatever the case may be, we have no issue with Brown coming to the defense of his teammate in this instance. In fact, we appreciate it.
