The first night of the 2025 NFL Draft is in the books with several notable trades, selections, and snubs. Tennessee kicked off the party on the Frozen Tundra with their selection of Cam Ward. The festivities continue on Friday evening with the second and third rounds. What are the top options for the Tennessee Titans on Day 2? Could they decide to help build the offense around their new quarterback or solidify the defense?
Best Day 2 Options For The Tennessee Titans
Several positions of need still remain on the board despite their best efforts to address them in free agency. What are those needs, and how can GM Mike Borgonzi go about filling them on Friday night and beyond?
Wide Receiver
- Luther Burden III
- Jayden Higgins
- Jack Bech
- Jaylin Noel
- Kyle Williams
- Tre Harris
Burden was projected as a first-round selection but has fallen to the second round. The talented Missouri receiver is a popular target for mock draft enthusiasts to send to the Titans. Bech, Higgins, Noel, and Williams each had their star turn at the Senior Bowl and have risen through the offseason process. Despite the Titans signing veteran Tyler Lockett hours before the draft, the need for a younger receiver for Ward to grow with remains.
EDGE
- Donovan Ezeiruaku
- Landon Jackson
- Nic Scourton
- Olafemi Oladejo
- JT Tuimoloau
Tennessee’s need for an EDGE is acute and glaring, especially after the release of Harold Landry last month. Ezeiruaku isn’t a like-for-like comparison, but he does bring traits similar to Landry’s and is also a Boston College alumnus. Jackson has steadily risen through the process and is a freakishly athletic prospect, and could be developed into a star under the proper coaching. Oladejo was also at the Senior Bowl and started his rise there. Tuimoloau is the most hyped of the quintet as a former five-star recruit. He is a considerable force and has plenty of athleticism to spare. Scourton is another EDGE with brute power, athletic traits, and the statistics to back it up.
Safety
- Nick Emmanwori
- Billy Bowman
- Xavier Watts
The Titans’ need for safety isn’t as significant after the signing of Xavier Woods, but the need for depth is there. Emmanwori is a freak athlete who tested very well during the offseason process. As a result, he has been billed as one of the best safeties. He could play multiple roles in DC Dennard Wilson’s defense. Bowman has the athleticism to play a “big nickel” role, but his size is a concern. Watts is one of the best prospects in the class after a standout career at Notre Dame. He’s a versatile safety who has tremendous ball skills and instincts.
