No surprise here

Brian Callahan has not yet named Cam Ward, who was the number one overall player drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, but he did confirm that Ward will take the majority of the number one reps in Tennessee Titans training camp. There was never going to be a quarterback competition here, but with Will Levis having shoulder surgery, there really isn’t anyone to even push Ward in camp. He’s the guy.

All eyes will be on Ward as the Titans start camp today. He has said and done all of the right things up to this point. Now it is time for the next step of looking the part in these practices. After that, of course, he will need to show that he can play in the preseason and then the regular season.

Callahan also talked about the L’Jarius Sneed knee cleanup procedure that happened in May. Cally said that they did not disclose the procedure because it was the offseason. There is still hope that Sneed will be ready to play in week one. I will believe that when I see it.

Other notes:

  • Cally had good things to say about new left tackle Dan Moore.
  • Rookie safety Kevin Winston is expected to be a full participant from the jump in training camp.
  • Cally talked a lot about his growth from year one to year two. It sounds like he really evaluated what happened last year and looked for ways to improve in year two.
  • All players passed the conditioning test. The only players that won’t be out there today are Sneed and Lloyd Cushenberry, who are both starting the season on PUP.
