Chiefs, Titans Connected In Trade Rumors

September 13, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

The Kansas City Chiefs selected offensive tackle Wanya Morris in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, but that selection has not worked out. While the Oklahoma product helped win a Super Bowl in 2023, he has not been a starting-caliber player since entering the league. With first-round pick Josh Simmons now handling left tackle duties, the Chiefs could look to trade their former third-round pick.

At least, that’s what Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report believes. In a recent article, the NFL analyst made his case for why a Wanya Morris trade would be a win-win for the Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans.

“With [2024 first-round pick J.C. Latham] still sidelined in practice this week, Tennessee would be wise to consider adding depth at right tackle,” Knox writes. “Kansas City Chiefs backup Wanya Morris would be a sensible trade target…To make this an enticing deal for Kansas City, the Titans could include backup safety Mike Brown in a deal. The Chiefs lack safety depth and just coughed up 304 passing yards in their season-opener.”

Chiefs, Titans Could Agree to Wanya Morris Trade

The Tennessee Titans have everything invested in first-overall pick Cam Ward, but they’ll never know what he can become in his current environment. The Titans looked completely lost in Week 1, and asking a rookie to navigate this offense is asking the impossible.

A Wanya Morris trade wouldn’t immediately fix every issue with this offense, but it wouldn’t hurt. There’s no such thing as too many reliable offensive linemen, and while Morris doesn’t have the best track record, he can’t be much worse than Tennessee’s current options behind Latham. Seeing as the Chiefs have plenty of offensive tackle depth, they should be willing to make this deal.
