Deion Sanders addresses Shedeur possibly landing with Titans

January 17, 2025 by Titans Wire

With the first pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans select… Whoever they want. There’s a lot of talk about what the Titans should do with the first pick, but none of us really know what they WILL do until they actually do it.

One of the top prospects in this year’s draft class is quarterback Shedeur Sanders. There is talk of the Titans drafting Sanders (among other candidates) with that top pick, but he comes with a caveat: He is the son of former NFL player and current Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. Sanders was asked how he felt about the Titans having the first pick in the draft this year:

At the very least, this should put an end to people saying that Prime doesn’t want Shedeur to go to the Titans.

“I love it,” Sanders said. “First of all, no state tax. New stadium going in. Beautiful city. I love it.”

He then goes on to talk about how the NFL teams are in a position battle right now. They may report they aren’t interested in a player or news may arise that says a player struggles in certain areas to knock down their draft status. Coach Prime called this “strategic hating” as teams jockey to get the players they want in the spot that they want.

There’s a lot of time between now and the 2025 NFL Draft at the end of April. A lot of events, interviews, film watching, etc. that teams conduct to prepare for bringing in the next slew of talent they hope will elevate the organization. But now we know that if the Titans do draft Shedeur Sanders, Prime won’t do anything to send him away.
