Derrick Henry makes top 5 of NFL's 'Top 100 Players of 2021' list

August 28, 2021 by Titans Wire Leave a Comment

Fresh off a 2,000-yard season and a second straight rushing title, Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry has been ranked No. 4 on the NFL’s “Top 100 Players of 2021” list.

For Henry, this is his third straight appearance on the list. He landed at No. 99 in 2019, and then at No. 10 in 2020.

Here’s a look at the full top 10, as voted on by the players:

10. QB Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

9. OLB T.J. Watt, Pittsburgh Steelers

8. WR DeAndre Hopkins, Arizona Cardinals

7. QB Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

6. WR Davante Adams, Green Bay Packers

5. TE Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs

4. RB Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans

3. QB Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

2. DT Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams

1. QB Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Not only did Henry make history with his 2,000 yards and notch another rushing crown, he was also voted the AP Offensive Player of the Year.

Over the past two seasons, no running back in the NFL has been as dominant as The King, who has totaled 3,567 rushing yards and 35 total touchdowns in that span.

In 2019, Henry carried the Titans to the AFC Championship Game on the strength of 377 yards and two scores (one passing).

“He literally puts fear in other men’s hearts.” 👑

Henry is the fifth Titans player to be ranked on the list ahead of 2021, joining quarterback Ryan Tannehill (No. 83), defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons (No. 78), and wide receivers A.J. Brown (No. 62) and Julio Jones (No. 29).

While we would have liked to see Henry at No. 1, this is still a great honor, especially for a franchise that is often overlooked and disrespected on so many levels.

Henry will look to make history once again by becoming the first player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards twice, something he has a great chance to do with a 17th game being added to the schedule.
