Dillon Radunz likes tweets saying Titans should play him at LT

December 15, 2022 by Titans Wire

One of the biggest mysteries of the 2022 campaign for the Tennessee Titans has been their insistence on sticking with left tackle Dennis Daley, who is arguably the worst left tackle in the NFL.

Daley has been a turnstile in Nashville, giving up the most sacks in the NFL with 11. Also, after getting steam-rolled by the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13, Daley had given up the highest sack percentage of any offensive tackle since 2014.

Unfortunately, ahead of Daley giving up two more sacks and four more pressures in Week 14, offensive line coach Keith Carter didn’t sound like someone who is ready to make a change.

“It is not to me, so glaringly obvious that we should throw the next man in and go that route,” Carter said when asked about Daley’s job security.

Perhaps the loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars will be enough to spur on a change, but I’m not holding my breath for that.

Two potential options to get a look at left tackle are veteran Le’Raven Clark and 2021 second-round pick, Dillon Radunz, who was recently liking tweets suggesting the Titans give him a shot.

Normally, I wouldn’t be cool with this because it kind of throws his teammate under the bus, but things have gotten so ridiculously bad with Daley that, at this point, I actually love to see this from Radunz.

While Radunz has been disappointing since being drafted, he simply can’t be any worse than what the Titans have going on. Adding to that, the Titans drafted him to be a tackle and have a need there, so let him play.

The reason why that hasn’t happened likely boils down to the fact that the Titans view Radunz as more of a guard, something Carter spoke about recently.

“I think Dillon has proven in the last however many weeks that he’s gotten better inside,” Carter said. “To me, I think he has improved inside and I think it’s shown. Who knows what the future holds, but as of right now, I think he has excelled by moving inside and getting reps there.”

If that’s indeed the case, give him a shot at left guard then, as Aaron Brewer has also struggled.

Whether it’s Radunz, Clark or the water boy, the Titans have to try something different on the left side. Hell, it might not even work, but at this point Titans fans just want to see the team try.
