The 2025 NFL offseason process has settled down, with free agency and the draft over, and coaches are doing the heavy lifting right now. That said, Matt Bowen of ESPN released an article on Monday detailing the best fits for free agents and trade candidates. Mr. Bowen mentioned the Tennessee Titans as a potential “best fit” for a productive veteran. Who is the candidate he talks up for the franchise, and how would he fit?

ESPN: Seven-Year Veteran Named “Best Fit” For Tennessee Titans
Bowen named the former fourth-round selection and Arizona Cardinals star Kyzir White a landing spot for the Tennessee Titans’ defense. He wrote the following statement for the player, mentioning that the depth at linebacker isn’t the greatest.
“The Titans signed linebacker Cody Barton in free agency, but there is still room for coordinator Dennard Wilson to add another veteran at the second level. White is an off-ball linebacker with run-and-hit traits, and he recorded nine tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks last season with the Cardinals. He has the pursuit speed to track the ball on the edges, with six interceptions and 16 pass breakups in his career.
In Tennessee, White has the traits to play a three-down role. Wilson can set him up on pressures to make big plays.”
White originally played safety at West Virginia before transitioning to linebacker with the Chargers following the 2018 NFL Draft. He comes from a family of Mountaineers, with brothers Kevin and Karaun playing receiver for the program. The 28-year-old blossomed in his fourth season with the Chargers, recording 144 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, two interceptions, and three passes defended. He signed with Philadelphia in 2022, returning to safety. White then signed a two-year contract with the Cardinals, where he converted to linebacker full time again. In three seasons away from the City of Angels, he posted 337 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, six sacks, and 13 passes defended. Mr. White’s contract expired, and he didn’t have a home with the Cardinals after they signed Akeem Davis-Gaither from Cincinnati. The emergence of Mack Wilson also contributed to his leaving Arizona.
How Would He Fit the Titans?
He would give Tennessee a second-tenured linebacker veteran and a great athlete for the position while the young guys develop. At this point in free agency, his deal would be cheaper than the opening salvos in March. The depth behind Cody Barton is a gamble in the best-case scenario and a glaring hole in the worst-case scenario. Young guys like Cedric Gray and James Williams are unproven. White would further boost the competition level to a reimagined inside linebacker room. Tennessee’s stout defensive line would free him up to make plays all over the field.
GM Mike Borgonzi and DC Dennard Wilson should contact him to gauge mutual interest in a potential starting role.
