Despite signing linebacker Cody Barton this offseason, ESPN believes the Titans could target former fourth-round pick Kyzir White to salvage the unit. According to the source, there’s still room for the team to add another veteran before the 2025 regular season. White could fill the hole since he’s more of an off-ball linebacker with run-and-hit traits that could be efficient for the Titans’ defense. Even though he didn’t put up big numbers last season with the Arizona Cardinals, he still has a lot of upside to provide for a team that needs a pass-rusher.
Originally selected in the 2018 NFL Draft, the former West Virginia product began his debut with the Los Angeles Chargers alongside Denzel Perryman as the middle linebacker. White wasn’t able to consistently prove that he was the long-term answer for the Chargers’ defense back then, after three inconsistent years of unproductivity and injuries. However, he was the leading tackler with 144 total tackles in one season in his last year with the Chargers, but he didn’t fit the bill anymore. White joined the Eagles for a one Super Bowl loss season before signing with the Cardinals to spend the next two campaigns with them.
It’s hard to imagine he will be on the market at this time. He should begin getting some type of interest from teams since he has the characteristics to impress these four potential suitors.

Possible Destinations
Los Angeles Chargers
Last season, the Los Angeles Chargers had one of the worst run defenses in the league, even though former Poona Ford and veteran Khalil Mack kept the unit intact. While they’re bringing back Teair Tart and signing Da’Shawn Hand to salvage the pass-rush, the Chargers could use a capable linebacker to help the defense alongside Mack. Nobody loves the trenches more than Jim Harbaugh, and since he wants physical defense, it replicates what White is, and a reunion could be what the team needs to rejuvenate this department.
Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders are building a promising culture with quarterback Jayden Daniels and their offense. However, they’re hoping the defensive side of the ball can have a much different turnout, even though Dante Fowler Jr. led the team in sacks. He’s no longer on the roster, so they’re hoping that by bringing back Bobby Wagner, the defense is still intact. Frankie Luvu is another powerful force, but Kyzir White could complete this pass-rushing unit.
Baltimore Ravens
Meanwhile, the Ravens didn’t have the same pass-rushing department as in 2023 when they had Jadeveon Clowney. While he’s available on the market, they might be better off signing someone like White to bolster the linebacker unit. They lost Malik Harrison to the Steelers this offseason, so it’s on Trenton Simpson and Odafe Oweh to step up when it counts. Simpson hasn’t been too impressive, so adding White in the mix could keep this defense intact.
New Orleans Saints
The same can be said about the New Orleans Saints, but they probably will have one of the worst offenses this upcoming campaign. The defense will need to be on its A-game this year, but Demario Davis and Pete Werner could use some help. After losing Willie Gay Jr. this offseason, the Saints could use a replacement like White.
