Everyone Thinks The Titans Overpaid To Sign Calvin Ridley

Calvin Ridley will be suiting up for the Tennessee Titans this season, and he’ll be well compensated to do so.

Ridley has agreed to a four-year deal worth up to $92 million with $50 million fully guaranteed. The former Atlanta Falcon and Jacksonville Jaguar cashed in on being the top wide receiver still on the market.

Ridley is a talented player for sure, but even with the salary cap skyrocketing, many are questioning the Titans’ decision to pay him this much money.

“And this is why you don’t trade Tee Higgins for just anything,” said a Bengals fan on X/Twitter. “You give away your Top10 WR & watch him go crazy for another team (AJ Brown) … you draft a bum in Burks as a replacement. Get your GM fired. Then come back and overpay for a near 30 year old receiver Nope.”

“That #Titans deal sounds like ownership telling the GM to get me a new AJ Brown. That’s a wild contract,” added Jason Fitzgerald of Over The Cap.

“$50M fully GRTD is massive for Ridley. May be an overpay for the Titans here, but likely needed to go there to outbid NE & JAX,” another Bengals fan said.

“Well that’s an overpay. Jags having a pretty terrible offseason imo,” a Jets fan chimed in.

“This is such an overpay very thankful that the #Browns traded for Jerry Jeudy,” said a Cleveland fan.

In one season with the Jaguars, Ridley showed no rust from the gambling suspension that cost him all of 2022.

He started all 17 games, catching 76 passes for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns.
