Former All-Pro Safety Jamal Adams Signs With New NFL Team

It wasn’t too long ago that Jamal Adams was seen as the best safety in the NFL. But a slew of injuries have limited both his playing time and his effectiveness over the past three seasons and resulted in him being released by the Seattle Seahawks this offseason. Now, however, he has a new team for 2024.

According to ESPN’s Turron Davenport, the Tennessee Titans have signed Adams on an unspecified deal. Davenport noted that Titans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson previously worked with Adams and helped him reach back-to-back Pro Bowl seasons in 2018 and 2019.

“The #Titans have agreed to terms with safety Jamal Adams. Adams is reunited with Dennard Wilson who was his DB coach during Pro Bowl seasons in 2018, 2019,” Davenport wrote on X.

Between 2018 and 2020, Adams made three Pro Bowls and was a three-time All-Pro selection for the New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks. In 2020 he broke the NFL record for single-season sacks by a safety with 9.5 of them.

But after missing only two games in his three seasons with the Jets, Adams immediately missed nine games in his first two years with the Seahawks. Then in 2022 he suffered a torn quad in Week 1 that ended his season after just one game.

Adams was limited to just nine games in 2023 and didn’t look like an elite player when he was healthy.

Perhaps joining the Titans will give Adams’ career new life.

Will Jamal Adams return to Pro Bowl form in 2024?
