The Tennessee Titans made a much-needed move to bolster their defensive line and pass rush by bringing former Indianapolis Colts defender Denico Autry to Nashville.
Autry can receive a max of $21.5 million over the course of his three-year deal, and $9 million of that is guaranteed. There is an out after 2022 that would see the Titans take on $2 million in dead money in 2023.
Tennessee sported one of the worst pass rushes in the NFL last season, and their run defense wasn’t that much better, either. Autry, who excels in both areas, should provide an upgrade for the Titans in 2021.
Not to mention, he has versatility, something head coach Mike Vrabel loves. Autry can play at both defensive end and nose tackle in the Titans’ 3-4 defense.
For the move, we gave the Titans an “A+” because of how great of a fit Autry is for what the Titans need, his reasonable contract, and the cherry on top is that they pluck him away from a division rival.
But do analysts from different outlets agree? Let’s take a look.
