Mike Vrabel’s firing by the Tennessee Titans was an emotional one for a lot of people, including NFL Network analyst Jane Slater.

Taking to X on Wednesday, Slater revealed that she messaged Vrabel after the news. Vrabel’s response was first to ask her how her mom is doing since she’s been battling cancer.

Slater made it clear that messages like that are why so many people love Vrabel and that the next team he works for will be lucky to get him.

“Another share? I texted him today as many I’m sure did following the news. His response? “How’s your beautiful mom?” (Knowing she’s still fighting against her terminal cancer). That response…on this day. He’s different. A new team will be so lucky to have him,” Slater wrote.

“My sincerest of prayers for your mom (and you and your family). My mom passed from pancreatic cancer a few years ago but fought it like a badger every day. Strength and courage of folks battling cancer is unmatched…God bless,” one user replied.

“Amazing human being,” wrote another.

“A Gentleman. He´s an awesome coach, one of the great minds in football,” a third wrote.

Where will Mike Vrabel be coaching next year?
