Julio Jones misses second straight day of practice

NFL: Tennessee Titans Training Camp
Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

Julio Jones was not able to practice for the second straight day on Wednesday. The veteran receiver left practice on Monday and hasn’t been seen since. Mike Vrabel, in typical Mike Vrabel fashion, didn’t give any update on Jones following the practice session.

Jim Wyatt had this to say on the team site.

“Julio Jones left Monday’s session after landing awkwardly, and Vrabel indicated he might not practice a whole lot during training camp,” Wyatt wrote on TitansOnline. “Vrabel gave no indication on when Jones might practice next.”

The 32 year old receiver missed seven games for the Falcons last season due to a nagging hamstring injury. He was still able to put up 771 yards in just nine games for Atlanta.

It’s unclear what Jones is dealing with at this point, and we might not find out for a while, but all indications are that it’s not that serious of an issue.

While it would be nice to establish some chemistry between he and Ryan Tannehill, keeping Julio on the shelf here seems like the obvious move to make. Will we see him at all during the preseason? Perhaps for a drive or two, but probably not much more than that — maybe not even that.

Expect #JulioWatch to continue throughout the remainder of camp.
