EA Sports is continuing its trickle of NFL player ratings for their upcoming Madden NFL 22 video game. Today, they released the list that is likely to court more controversy than anything: The top quarterbacks.
On Friday, EA unveiled the top 10 quarterbacks in the latest edition of their NFL-licensed game. Naturally, the usual suspects made the list. But it’s the order and exact ratings that some of the quarterbacks got that should cause some debate.
Getting the top spot with a very rare 99 overall rating is Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. In second is Tom Brady at 97, followed by Aaron Rodgers (96), Russell Wilson (94) and Lamar Jackson (90) to round out the top five.
Numbers 6-10 are Deshaun Watson (90), Josh Allen (88), Dak Prescott (87), Ryan Tannehill (87) and Matt Ryan (85).
It’s a strong list, with not a whole lot of surprises given what we saw last year. But the debate has already started in the comments section:

“Josh Allen should’ve been in the 90s, he out-produced Mahomes last season who they put at 99, something doesn’t make sense,” wrote Dov Kleiman.
“Wtf lamar over allen and watson?!? Brady over rodgers?!?!?! Whoever made the ratings needs to be fired wtf,” one fan replied.
“MATT RYAN OVER BAKER!? HELL NAH,” wrote another.
“Allen was done dirty smh,” another fan wrote.
You can’t please everyone, and the debate is probably only to get more intense once the game is released and the season starts.
