While at the NFL owners meetings this week, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel was asked about his quarterback situation heading into the spring.
Vrabel made it abundantly clear that he wants Ryan Tannehill to be his starter.
“Of course. Of course, we do,” Vrabel said. “We are in March, and we are continuing to build a football team, the best football team we can. And Ryan is getting healthy. He has been putting the work in. It is good to see him around the building. So yeah, we always expect that.”
However, Vrabel won’t guarantee that Tannehill is on the roster come September.
“But to make predictions – I think I have been through this last year (with A.J. Brown) – I am not going to commit to anybody being on our roster in September. I’ve seen it change too quickly. Of course, we want Ryan as our quarterback, and everybody else that has helped us win. That is what we want.”

Tannehill is entering the final year of his contract with the Titans. His base salary for the 2023 season is $27 million.
Injuries plagued Tannehill last season, but he still managed to complete 65.2 percent of his passes for 2,536 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions.
On paper, Tannehill is undoubtedly Tennessee’s best option at quarterback. The only issue is that he doesn’t match up with the team’s timeline.
The Titans have already parted ways with several veterans this offseason. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Tannehill is next.
