Taylor Lewan’s nine-year tenure with the Tennessee Titans ended when they released him last week.
On Tuesday, the offensive lineman posted a melancholic photo solidifying the break-up. The team apparently dropped off his belongings from the team facility — packed in garbage bags — at his home.
“Shout out to the Titans
dropping my stuff off today,” Lewan wrote. “They even let me keep the shoulder pads.”
The clear plastic bag contains cleats, socks, and other equipment, with his shoulder pads thrown on top.
Lewan has spent his entire career in Tennesee since the Titans made him the No. 11 pick in 2014. He made three straight Pro Bowl appearances from 2016 to 2018, but injuries have limited him to 20 games over the last three seasons.
Earlier this month, Lewan correctly predicted his imminent release and said he’ll consider whether he wants to keep playing.
“Regardless of what decision I make, I will truly find peace and joy in both decisions,” Lewan told Titans reporter Jim Wyatt. “So, I am very, very lucky, and fortunate.”
