Former 1,000-yard rusher LenDale White opened up about a moment that changed his life forever during a recent appearance on Brandon Marshall’s “I Am Athlete” podcast.
Speaking with Marshall, Adam Jones and Marshawn Lynch, the ex-Titans running back and USC legend revealed that he suffered a heart attack four years ago that nearly killed him.
When you’re 34 and you have a heart attack, that changes your life forever. I definitely workout now and I hate working out. I gave dawgs 1,000 yards and was smoking kush everyday never squatted nothing. So to just go in there and be like I gotta squat now for fun it ain’t [it]. But if you want to save your life yeah I’m gonna squat all day.
The NFL world reacted to White’s admission on social media.
“Wow,” replied Gwen Berry.
“Wow, Wake-up call,” a user said. “I need to start exercising.”
“Listen All The Way Until The End!” a viewer tweeted.
“Health is wealth.”
“Take care of ya body ppl,” another commented. “S— ain’t no joke.”
Happy that LenDale is still here to tell the tale.
