Look: NFL World Reacts To Thursday’s Growing C.J. Stroud Rumor

We’re only hours away from the 2023 NFL Draft and the odds on which players will be drafted where have been fluctuating like crazy. The latest rumor concerns Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud and where he might go tonight.

On Thursday, Marcus Mosher of Pro Football Focus took to Twitter and said that “whispers” of Stroud going to the Tennessee Titans at No. 3 overall are getting “louder and louder.” The No. 3 overall pick is currently held by the Arizona Cardinals while the Titans hold the No. 11 overall pick.

Such a move would not only necessitate a trade, but also necessitate that Stroud doesn’t go in the first two picks. With two QB-needy teams in the Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans ahead of them, that’s no guarantee.

Titans fans are thrilled at the prospect of their team trading up to get an elite quarterback, but others suspect that this is a mere ruse by the Arizona Cardinals to get another team to make them a bigger pre-draft trade offer for the No. 3 overall pick:

Of course there’s a chance I’m proven wrong, but this seems pretty transparently a ploy by Arizona to get someone else to trade up. https://t.co/nPEQ98Lv26

The Tennessee Titans are in a bit of a pickle at quarterback right now.

Their starter from the last few years, Ryan Tannehill, is coming off an injury-filled season and can’t be counted on to play at the high level he’s delivered in previous years. Their 2022 third-round pick Malik Willis was unimpressive as a rookie and can’t be relied on to make a big jump this season either.

The Titans could do a lot worse than taking the plunge and going all-in on a quarterback in the NFL Draft tonight.

Will C.J. Stroud be a Titan?
