The Tennessee Titans made a blockbuster move on Thursday night, trading star wideout A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles for the 18th overall pick and a third-round pick.
Brown was set to enter the final year of his rookie contract, but the Eagles will reportedly give him a four-year, $100 million extension. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the deal will include $57 million guaranteed.
Judging by some of the responses on Twitter, the Titans’ locker room isn’t thrilled about this trade.
Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons had the following reaction to the trade: “Wait this bet not be true.”
Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan, meanwhile, tweeted: “What…”

Brown has been the best wide receiver for the Titans since 2019, hauling in 185 passes for 2,995 yards and 24 touchdowns.
So, who will replace Brown in Tennessee? The Titans have selected Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks with the 18th overall pick.
Burks will have large shoes to fill in Tennessee, that’s for sure.
