Ryan Tannehill remains the Tennessee Titans’ starting quarterback, at least for now.
However, with just one year on his contract, Tannehill is clearly not Tennessee’s QB of the future. Yahoo’s Charles Robinson even said on “The Rich Eisen Show” recently that around the time of this year’s owners meetings, it was “getting around the league” that the Titans were calling other teams about Tannehill.
“I don’t think there was a lot of traction out there, honestly, to bring Ryan in,” Robinson said.
Robinson’s report has sparked reaction from NFL Twitter after it was aggregated by Dov Kleiman.
“If there was any doubt Tannehill was on the block, it’s over. Just that nobody wants him, and even they do it’s not at that price,” one person said.

“Somebody please take him!” begged one Titans fan.

“I respect the guy, but he has never, ever had pocket presence at all and he’s getting older. Those two are not the greatest combination,” a third person chimed in.

“He’s not that guy. Start [Will] Levis as soon as we feel that he’s ready,” said the Tennessee Fan TV Twitter account.

Tennessee moved up to No. 33, the second pick of the second round, to take Levis, a strong-armed but raw passer from Kentucky. Robinson theorized on “The Rich Eisen Show” that he thinks the Titans would ideally have liked to trade up in the first round for Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, but that didn’t materialize.
Instead, it looks like Tannehill will begin the season as QB1 with Levis and 2022 third-round pick Malik Willis vying for the backup role.
