The Tennessee Titans have the league’s most cap space, according to OverTheCap, with just a shade under $105 million before any moves are made. Greg Auman of Fox Sports predicts several free agents to sign with the Titans within his top 100 ranks. Who and what positions does Titans GM Mike Borgonzi target in this free agency projection? With the draft several weeks away, his team’s wants and needs must account for every penny he spends for his new coach. Would this free agency haul be acceptable for Titans fans and coaches alike as they attempt an audacious rebuild?
Tennessee Titans Projected To Sign Multiple Top 100 Free Agents
48. WR Wan’Dale Robinson
“Robinson, 25, is a volume receiver. Only five receivers in the league have more targets in the last two seasons than his 280, and while the other five average 18 touchdown catches in that span, Robinson has just seven. So he’s coming off a 1,014-yard season with 90 catches, but only 42% of those catches resulted in a first down. There are lofty projections out there for Robinson. Spotrac has him getting $15 million a year, but that’s a lot for someone with nine career touchdowns on 389 targets.”
The do-it-all former Kentucky star broke out in 2025 after three modest seasons to start his NFL career, posting over 1,000 yards on 90 receptions. While he won’t be WR1, he does have some use as a reliable weapon for a young quarterback trying to find his bearings. He has seen his biggest successes under new Titans OC Brian Daboll, so it’s only natural to think that the connection could continue. The wily old veteran is 25 years old and fits perfectly in the timeline with the other young receivers like Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike. Tennessee should do well to extend an offer because he knows the Daboll system and can teach it.
53. EDGE Kwity Paye
“Paye, 27, had only four sacks in a disappointing 2025 after totaling 16.5 between 2023-24, a former first-round pick who managed to play a career-high in snaps while matching his career lows in sacks and tackles for loss. Will he have a market based on the production he showed in previous seasons? Perhaps. Spotrac has him generously at $17.8 million a year, but he’s not expected back with the Colts — there’s a chance he could reunite with Indy defensive coordinator Gus Bradley with the Titans.”
Paye has been a disappointment relative to his draft position thus far in his career. Could Bradley unlock his unfulfilled potential in Nashville, or is he just another Arden Key twin? Can he revitalize his flagging career as a pass rusher in a new home, ala K’Lavon Chaisson? The potential is still there; it’s up to a team to find it and deliver on the immense promise he featured coming out of Michigan. Tennessee desperately needs EDGE help in the worst way, and Paye at least provides depth.
89. TE Chig Okonkwo
“Okonwko, 26, has been good for about 50 catches and 500 yards a year, while having not-so-great quarterbacks throwing to him — Ryan Tannehill, Josh Dobbs, Will Levis, Cam Ward. Tennessee has the cap space to pay him well and keep him, but if he went to the right offense, he could get as many touchdowns in 2026 as he has in his NFL career (8). Affordably priced at around $8 million a year, remember next year that we told you he’d be much improved.”
Okonkwo is a good starting tight end but hasn’t dazzled by any stretch of the imagination, either. His replacement is seemingly on the roster with rising sophomore Gunnar Helm. It is a question for Brian Daboll to answer: Is Okonkwo a system fit? The pending free agent tight end would be a nice player to have in the passing game as Cam Ward develops. Does he want a change of scenery after several consecutive losing seasons?
92. S Nick Cross
“Cross, still only 24, has had a busy past two years with the Colts, totaling 266 tackles and four interceptions. Indianapolis has bigger free agents to worry about, but Cross had success with two different coordinators and won’t break the bank, drawing $6–8 million a year. If he doesn’t stick in Indy, he’d be a smart play for the Titans, where Gus Bradley knows him well and the front office has ample cap space to rebuild their defense with young potential.”
Cross has been a solid safety for the Colts since he took hold of the starting reins in 2024. It took a minute for him to adjust to the NFL game, but he burst out of the gate when the light came on. There are ties to former Colts DC Gus Bradley, so it could be enticing to Cross to “cross” the rivalry lines into Nashville. Tennessee has a need for the position, as Kevin Winston Jr.’s health is an issue, and Amani Hooker’s contract looks to be an albatross. He would provide an instant upgrade on Hooker and insurance for Winston as he recovers from various leg ailments.
93. LB Quincy Williams
“Williams, 29, averaged 110 tackles a year in his five seasons with the Jets, having just finished a three-year, $18 million contract. Would a change of scenery help him? There are potential matches in the Titans, where former Jets coach Robert Saleh is now, and the Falcons, where his defensive coordinator, Jeff Ulbrich, returns. Both had him when he was a first-team All-Pro selection in 2023, so it makes sense, given the choice, that he could return to one of them.”
As Auman writes, this could be a two-team race between the Titans and Falcons, who have ties to the linebacker on both staffs. The brother of superstar Cowboys defensive lineman Quinnen could be in for a moderate pay raise on his next team. Williams enters his eighth season after starting his career with the Jaguars, so he isn’t brand new to Tennessee. He reeled off four consecutive 100-tackle seasons and was on pace for a fifth before injury and a benching in 2025. However, he took a back seat in the Jets’ defense after the rapid rise of linebacker Jamien Sherwood.
Depending on the cost of a potential deal, it’s likely that he’ll come in to compete with rising star Cedric Gray for a starting spot. Cody Barton appears entrenched as the other starter, but it is a new defensive scheme, and Williams possesses the advantage of experience in Saleh’s system. If he were to sign with the Titans, it could prove to be an under-the-radar signing that would invigorate the depth at the position.

7. EDGE Odafe Oweh
Oweh is a promising pass rusher expected to bring home a large contract, and the Titans have a need at the position, along with ample cap space. He started his career with the Ravens but was traded to the Chargers in 2025, where he broke out with 7.5 sacks in just a few short weeks. Interestingly, his DC in LA is now the head coach in Baltimore, so a reunion could be in the offing. The chance to become Tennessee’s EDGE1 matched with the commensurate paycheck is enticing.
18. WR Jauan Jennings
The prodigal son returns home for a reunion with his team’s former defensive coordinator? Sign Tennessee up! He would bring knowledge of Coach Saleh’s methods and instantly upgrade the Titans’ receiver room with veteran know-how. Jennings has been a reliable, steady receiver with spurts of playmaking, which Tennessee needs in spades.
23. WR Romeo Doubs
Doubs has a tie to the Titans organization as the President of Football Operations, Chad Brinker, was in Green Bay’s front office at the time of his draft selection. The connection could lead him to Nashville as a potential WR1 candidate. Doubs is a productive receiver who has a chance to thrive in a bigger role if healthy. The Packers’ WR room is full of WR2 types jockeying for Jordan Love’s attention. Doubs was part of the equation there, but never really ascended to the lead role.
42. OL Alijah Vera-Tucker
AVT is a versatile lineman who needs better health luck, and the Titans need a Kevin Zeitler replacement as he’s a free agent. He was part of Coach Saleh’s first draft class in 2021 and was the Jets’ first-round selection that year, so he’s intimately familiar with Saleh’s coaching style. The former Jets offensive lineman probably won’t cost much in the open market, given his health issues, and a reunion with Saleh would fortify the Titans’ offensive line issues.
44. S Kevin Byard
The Mayor of Murfreesboro would make a return to the franchise that drafted him in 2016. Tennessee traded him during the 2023 season to recoup draft selections, and the position hasn’t been right since. He was named to the All-Pro first team in the 2025 season after logging seven interceptions. While he didn’t do so well in Philadelphia, he found a home in Chicago, becoming a feared defensive back once again. Could he return home to lead the franchise back to its glory days?
56. EDGE Dre’Mont Jones
Speaking of reunions, why not bring back a big part of Tennessee’s pass rush from last season? Jones contributed 4.5 sacks to the cause before being traded to the Ravens near the deadline for a Day 3 selection. He probably wouldn’t cost the Titans much more than the $10 million deal they signed him to last season. Jones was productive as a Raven in a vain attempt to reach the playoffs. Depending on the draft, he would provide depth at the very least for a lacking EDGE group.
