NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Tennessee Titans kick off the 2025 season on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
It’s the regular season debut for rookie quarterback Cam Ward.
Ward will have his hands full.

Denver led the NFL with 63 sacks last season, which means Ward is going against arguably the toughest defense he’ll face all season.
Not to mention, there are expected to be more than 51,000 fans screaming at him.
The environment will be unlike anything Ward has ever experienced.
“I think Tennessee took me for a reason; I’m capable of throwing the ball and leading the offense to score a lot of points,” Ward said. “I’m just trying to do my one-eleven. Everybody has a job in our offense; everybody got to contribute. So hopefully we’re coming out of there with a win.”
Broncos head coach Sean Payton is expected to test Ward.
Payton has won more than half of his games when facing a rookie quarterback.
Titans head coach Brian Callahan said Ward is ready for the challenge.
“He’s played a lot of football. This is not any different,” Callahan said. “The talent is different. The environment is going to be fun, but you walk on the field, and it’s still 100 yards long, ten-yard end zones, and 53 and a third yards wide, and it doesn’t really change. That approach helps. We don’t need him to do anything superhuman. We just need him to play good football.”
Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. Sunday in Denver.
