The Titans face the easiest remaining schedule for wide receivers

Mike Clay of ESPN has put out his remaining strength of schedule matrix. This is done through a fantasy football lens, but there is something really encouraging in there for the Titans:

Weeks 9->17 fantasy football strength of schedule

Raw = based on FF pts allowed to each position so far

Adj = based on FF pts allowed above expected (helps normalize for volume faced)

In case you can’t read the Tweet, blue is hard and red is easy. The Titans have the easiest remaining schedule for wide receivers. That lines up really nicely for a team that just lost their stud running back.

So much of how this remaining season plays out for the Titans is going to be determined by the passing game. Adrian Peterson is going to be fine as a fill-in for Henry, but this offense is going to put points on the board through the air. It sure doesn’t hurt to face an easy schedule for passing games.

It’s impossible to know what the Titans are going to get from Julio Jones the rest of the year. The hamstring injury he has had kept him sidelined or slowed for most of his time here.

What we do know is that A.J. Brown is a stud. He got 11 targets against the Colts. That needs to be the minimum going forward. His role in this offense should look like Davante Adams’s role in the Green Bay Packers offense.
