All of the offseason buzz these days is about potential trades involving quarterbacks. But one elite running back is started to get mentioned in trade rumors as well.
Appearing on Get Up this week, ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington suggested that the Tennessee Titans might contemplate trading all-world running back Derrick Henry to the Buffalo Bills – a team desperate for an elite back – before he loses his value to the team.
“You want to trade a guy before it’s too late,” Darlington said. “Maybe they get something. Trade away Derrick Henry to the Buffalo Bills. Just speculating here, but man, that’d be a fun one.”
Fans are understandably mixed on the idea, not just because it would make the Bills too good, but because it would crush the Titans’ title ambitions. Even Dez Bryant thinks that the Bills can’t be allowed to trade for a player as elite as Henry:
But there’s no doubt that acquiring an elite running back like Derrick Henry would make the Buffalo Bills instant Super Bowl favorites.
They already have a top 10 rushing offense thanks to Josh Allen and the solid if non-elite Devin Singletary as their top rushing threats.
Bringing in a player like Henry, who has averaged over 100 yards per game for the last five years, would almost certainly be the final piece of a championship puzzle.
Should Buffalo try and make a play for Henry?
