Titans aiming for joint practices with two teams in 2023

March 28, 2023 by Titans Wire

The Tennessee Titans have regularly taken part in joint practices with other teams during training camp in recent years, and that’s the plan for 2023.

According to head coach Mike Vrabel, the Titans are looking at holding joint practices with two different teams, one in Nashville and one away, although he didn’t say with what teams, per Jim Wyatt of Titans Online.

“We’d like to,” Vrabel said. “We’ve had some conversations with a few teams — can’t really commit to anything right now because of the schedule. But I think we’ll probably travel to somewhere and work, and then probably host somebody the third week. … There’s some data that some of these injuries we can try and mitigate after the first two weeks of training camp. So the recommendation is that the joint practices occur after the first preseason game. So, we’ll try and do weeks two and three potentially.”

In 2022, the Titans held joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Arizona Cardinals prior to their respective preseason contests in Week 2 and 3, so look for Tennessee to do the same with whoever their final two preseason opponents will be.

Those opponents have yet to be announced, but the full schedules will be released sometime in May.
