The Titans continue to tweak their roster throughout training camp.
The Tennessee Titans didn’t practice on Sunday, but that didn’t stop general manager Jon Robinson from trying to improve his roster.
Also on Sunday, the Titans placed TE Briley Moore on Injured Reserve.

The first piece of news saw a change at the ever-stressful kicker position. The Titans claimed former Jets kicker Sam Ficken off waivers. Ficken went 13-for-15 on field goals last season. Expand the scope and the numbers get less impressive. Ficken has made 35-of-48 field goals (good for just 73%) during his four-year NFL career so far. That percentage gets a lot worse when you look at his success rate from 40 yards or further, where Ficken is just 12-of-22 (55%). It’s worth mentioning that Ficken was a perfect 12-of-12 from inside 50 yards last season. Perhaps he figured something out last season. He’ll likely get a decent chance to prove himself at training camp over these next few weeks. He’s the only kicker that has actually attempted a kick in an NFL game on the roster.
Also on Sunday, the Titans waived kicker Blake Haubeil. Haubeil is an undrafted rookie out of Ohio State. He failed to impress during the early portion of training camp, and it appears the Titans have seen enough. They’re moving on. The kicker battle is now between Ficken and Tucker McCann, who is also off to a shaky start. It wouldn’t surprise me if more changes are coming here before the season kicks off.
Meanwhile, the Titans placed undrafted free agent Briley Moore on injured reserve. Moore was injured in Saturday’s practice and was carted off the field. He landed awkwardly on his knee while competing in 7-on-7 drills. I’m reporting that Moore suffered a torn ACL.
#Titans TE Briley Moore, who the team placed on IR today, suffered a torn ACL in practice Saturday, source said. Rough break for a promising young player who had a chance to make the roster.

The Titans return to the practice field later this morning.
