The Tennessee Titans should be enjoying their Thursday night victory over the Green Bay Packers. Instead, they’re currently making headlines because of their offensive coordinator.
It was announced on Friday morning that Todd Downing was arrested for driving under the influence. He was pulled over in Williamson County by a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper.
Downing was reportedly booked at roughly 4:30 a.m. and then released a few hours later.
The records show that Downing was charged with speeding and driving under the influence.
The Titans have not yet released a statement on Downing’s arrest. This is obviously not how the team thought it’d be spending its weekend.
Downing, 42, has been with the Titans since 2019. He started as a tight ends coach before being promoted to offensive coordinator in 2021.
Tennessee’s offense hasn’t exactly been explosive this season, but Downing made a handful of smart decisions during Thursday night’s game against Green Bay. His decision-making after the game, however, will be in question for a while.
