Does Quandre Diggs want the Titans to draft Miami QB Cam Ward at No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft?

As owners of the No. 1 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans are going to consistently be linked to quarterback prospects Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders throughout the pre-draft process. New general manager Mike Borgonzi and Chad Brinker have a sizable decision to make at the quarterback position this offseason.

At least one current Titans player is planting his flag. Veteran safety Quandre Diggs took to social media to publicly voice his support for Ward as the “best quarterback and leader” in the draft. It’s worth noting that Diggs and Ward are cousins, so there’s probably a little bias here.

Diggs signed a one-year contract with the Titans this past offseason. The veteran safety quickly established himself as a leader on Dennard Wilson’s defense. Diggs unfortunately suffered a season-ending foot injury versus the New England Patriots in November, but not before he accumulated 42 total tackles in 7.5 games.

Ward was electric for the Miami Hurricanes this past season. The former Incarnate Word and Washington State quarterback threw for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions. Ward also added four rushing touchdowns to his offensive totals, surpassing 40 total scores.

The Titans have to assess whether Ward’s off-script play style suits Brian Callahan’s offense. He’s said to be the better prospect physically than Sanders, but Sanders, who met with the Titans at the East-West Shrine Bowl, is said to be the more accurate pro-ready quarterback to operate Callahan’s rhythm-and-timing offense. The Titans will assess both quarterbacks with a fine-tooth comb.

The Titans need to acquire a starting-caliber safety opposite Amani Hooker this offseason. Diggs would probably possess interest in re-signing with the Titans if they drafted Ward. The Titans could prefer to go younger at safety though, given how Brinker and Borgonzi plan to rebuild the roster through the draft.
