Titans' Dillon Radunz: I feel more comfortable at tackle than guard

December 16, 2022 by Titans Wire

Tennessee Titans fans have been clamoring for something different along the offensive line with how poorly the unit has played as a whole this season.

The left side has been particularly bad, as Dennis Daley is the worst starting left tackle in the NFL, and Aaron Brewer has struggled mightily next to him.

One player fans would like to see get a shot at left tackle is Dillon Radunz, the 2021 second-round pick who the Titans seem intent on turning into a guard after he played tackle in college.

On Friday, head coach Mike Vrabel cracked the door open for the possibility that Radunz will get a shot, at least somewhere.

During his usual Friday press conference, Vrabel said the Titans are trying to expand Radunz’s role, and even said there’s a good chance the second-year pro will play at multiple spots on Sunday.

Hopefully, one of those spots will be at left tackle or, at the very least, left guard.

#Titans HC Mike Vrabel: @DillonRadunz has played a couple of positions for us. We’re trying to expand his role. Said there’s a pretty good chance he’ll play multiple positions on Sunday.

Radunz has been getting a look at left tackle in practice this week, which gives us hope the Titans are indeed making a change. After practice, he admitted tackle is where he feels most comfortable.

“Obviously, I played tackle for five years in college, and I only played guard for about a year and a half, so I do feel more comfortable at tackle,” Radunz said. “Doesn’t mean I don’t feel comfortable at guard but I definitely always feel more comfortable [at tackle].”

Radunz apparently agrees with the idea that the Titans should give him a shot at left tackle, as the 2021 second-round pick has been liking tweets of Titans fans saying so — and we can’t say we blame him.

After all, as disappointing as Radunz’s career has been up until this point, he can’t be any worse than what the Titans have right now, and even if he is, at least this team tried something different.
