The Tennessee Titans look as put-together as we’ve seen them in a long time heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, but there are still some small changes the team could make to become regular postseason contenders.
In his latest three-round mock draft, Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports has the Titans selecting former TCU cornerback Jeff Gladney with the No. 29 overall pick to kick things off.
“Logan Ryan and Tramaine Brock were two of the Titans’ top three cornerbacks and both are now free agents,” he wrote. “Even if Tennessee brings back one (or both), you can never have enough defensive backs on the roster. Gladney quietly had a standout season for the Horned Frogs and he might be one of the best cover corners in this draft class.”
In the second round, at pick No. 61, he has Tennessee adding yet another Horned Frog in order to patch the hole left by Jurrell Casey with defensive lineman Ross Blacklock.
“The Titans get great value here with Blacklock, who can help fill the void after the team traded away Jurrell Casey,” he wrote.
Tennessee selects Syracuse edge rusher Alton Robinson to bring some solidity to the front seven in the third round at pick No. 93 in this mock.
“The Titans continue to beef up the front seven, and here they pick up someone to contribute off the edge,” Wilson wrote.
This is a plausible route for the Titans to go in the first three rounds, but it will be interesting to see how closely reality aligns with Wilson’s projections when the Titans are on the clock on April 23.
