The Tennessee Titans continue to surprise with their pre-draft visits

It’s been a busy week for the Tennessee Titans in preparation for the 2025 NFL Draft. The organization traveled in waves to Miami to watch Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward perform at his Pro Day. They then returned home and hosted Oregon Ducks tight end Terrance Ferguson on a pre-draft visit.

More news has since emerged. According to his own social media account, the Titans hosted Iowa Hawkeyes running back Kaleb Johnson on a visit. Sources also confirmed to our Justin Melo that William & Mary offensive tackle Charles Grant has an upcoming visit with the Titans.

The Johnson visit is particularly intriguing. Running back appears to be one of the stronger positions on a bad Titans roster, with Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears under contract through the 2026 campaign. Johnson was absolutely dynamic for the Hawkeyes this past season. The Hamilton, Ohio native rushed for an astounding 1,537 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Johnson is a 6-foot, 225 pound three-down back. He also added 22 receptions to his offensive totals this past campaign. Johnson carries elite potential at the next level, which is probably why the Titans are doing their homework on him despite already rostering two backs. Pollard and Spears may not be viewed as long-term solutions beyond 2025, and the Iowa playmaker would give Brian Callahan a between-the-tackles runner at his size.

Johnson is a decisive runner with three-down size. He’s experienced in Callahan’s zone-rushing scheme and is stout in pass protection with more upside to be explored as a receiver. The issue is that Johnson is expected to be drafted in the second or third round. Running back should be a low priority on the Titans’ wish-list, and they don’t even own a third-round selection.

.@WMTribeFootball OT Charles Grant is among the most intriguing talents in the 2025 NFL Draft. Teams LOVE his athleticism.

It’s a similar situation with Grant. The Titans have premium resources invested in offensive tackle via Dan Moore Jr. and JC Latham. Grant projects as a Day Two, or early Day Three selection. General manager Mike Borgonzi has an abundance of roster needs to address before thinking about adding another tackle.

Grant is an uber-athletic raw prospect who would be the perfect developmental project for Bill Callahan. He was a late bloomer with a wrestling background. He began playing football late into his high school career, which is how he ended up at a smaller program like William & Mary. His tape is incredibly impressive, and he’s elevated his pre-draft stock into the top 75 conversation.
