Titans injury report: T’Vondre Sweat out, Tyler Boyd limited

December 5, 2024 by Titans Wire

The Tennessee Titans returned to the practice field on Wednesday as they started some preparations for their Week 14 battle with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Before the session began, some news on existing injuries broke.

#Titans open 3-week practice window for T Jaelyn Duncan to be activated from IR. He’s missed four games with hamstring injury.

On a positive note, offensive tackle Jaelyn Duncan, who has been out with a hamstring injury, has been designated to return from injured reserve. This move opens his three week practice window and he was on the field today in a limited capacity.

#Titans‘ Callahan: Notes that Treylon Burks (ACL) had to have surgery and is done for the year. Surgery was couple weeks ago.

The news wasn’t as positive on wide receiver Treylon Burks. The former first-round selection has been on injured reserve with a knee injury. When originally injured in practice there was optimism that he would return in 2024. Today, those thoughts came to an end when it was announced that Burks will miss the rest of 2024 with an ACL injury. This is the latest in a long line of injuries for Burks, who has not lived up to his draft pedigree.

As for active Titans, six starters were sidelined on Wednesday. Cornerback Roger McCreary, defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, linebacker Kenneth Murray, guard Peter Skoronski, defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat and linebacker James Williams were all held out.

Wide receiver Tyler Boyd, offensive tackle Leroy Watson, and Duncan were limited. While cornerback Chidobe Awuzie was a full participant and is working toward being activated for the Jaguars game.

The Titans complete injury report for Wednesday can be found below.

Did not participate: CB Roger McCreary (shoulder), DT Jeffery Simmon (NIR/rest), LB Kenneth Murray (hamstring), OG Peter Skoronski (foot), DT T’Vondre Sweat (shoulder), LB James Williams (knee)

Limited participant: WR Tyler Boyd (foot), OT Leroy Watson (back), OT Jaelyn Duncan (hamstring)

Full participant: CB Chidobe Awuzie (groin)
