Titans’ Jeffery Simmons ready to join hands team after dodgeball dominance

February 2, 2025 by Titans Wire

Jeffery Simmons was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft, and he has since become one of the faces of the Titans’ organization. Over the last six seasons, Simmons has been an integral part of the Titans’ defense and will do whatever is asked of him even if it means lining up on offense.

In 2023, Simmons did just that when he caught a two-yard touchdown pass. Apparently, Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Leonard Williams forgot that Simmons has hands when they faced each other in the dodgeball competition as part of Pro Bowl weekend.

With that catch, Simmons eliminated Williams from the game, giving the AFC the first-round win. At the same time, Simmons created an opportunity for himself in his NFL career by showing that he is more than just a good defender.

As mentioned above, Simmons caught a two-yard touchdown pass in 2023, and we saw him line up on offense a handful of times in 2024. If the Titans can nail down their quarterback problems and solidify that weak offensive line during the offseason, we may see Simmons start to pull some Warren Sapp-like plays in 2025.

At 6-foot-4 and 305 pounds, Simmons is not a player who can be brought down easily. He’s also not going to run the length of the field, but it will be interesting to see if the Titans decide to take advantage of Simmons’ ability to catch the ball in 2025.
