The Tennessee Titans whittled their roster down to the initial 53 players on Tuesday, and for the first time since completing that process, general manager Jon Robinson spoke to the media on Wednesday.
One hot topic upon release of the 53-man roster was the fact that cornerback Kristian Fulton was the only member of the dreaded 2020 draft class on it.
Robinson attempted to salvage the disaster that was that group by pointing out how the team got Fulton, who is a very good player, while also noting defensive lineman Larrell Murchison had made the team twice and is on Tennessee’s practice squad, along with defensive back Chris Jackson.
He also noted that the COVID-19 pandemic made the scouting process much more difficult, which is no doubt true. Still, to whiff on five of six players as badly as J-Rob did is hard to do.
The Titans did find some good undrafted free agents that year, like defensive lineman Teair Tart, offensive lineman Aaron Brewer and wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, all of whom are projected starters this year. Robinson made sure to mention that, also.
Check out exactly what Robinson had to say about the 2020 group, the 53-man roster decisions, and more below.
