Titans' Josh Reynolds 'working through' Achilles issue

August 17, 2021 by Titans Wire Leave a Comment

After the Tennessee Titans’ Nissan Stadium practice on Monday night, wide receiver Josh Reynolds revealed he is dealing with at least one injury issue.

Reynolds, who did practice on Monday night during the team’s session at Nissan Stadium, originally said he was “working through some stuff,” but when pressed further by ESPN’s Turron Davenport, he admitted it was “Achilles stuff.”

“I felt good today… Been kind of working through some stuff, but with the body, you’ve got good days, you’ve got bad days. Today I felt fresh and was glad I was able to kind of move around faster.”

Reynolds also noted that the injury is from this year and not from his days with the Los Angeles Rams, and that he had shoulder surgery in the spring.

#Titans‘ Reynolds: Achilles injury is something new this year. He kind of plays it by ear each day. Comes out for warm-ups, see how he feels and how much he’ll do.

Reynolds showed a good sign on Monday that he is in fact feeling better, as he and quarterback Ryan Tannehill connected on a deep ball that saw the wideout chase it down to reel in the catch, per Davenport.

Head coach Mike Vrabel said that Reynolds bounced back nicely after a rough start to practice.

#Titans‘ Vrabel: Didn’t think Josh Reynolds started practice very well, but liked how he bounced back and caught that deep pass.

Just last week, Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky pointed out that Reynolds did not look explosive just days after returning to practice following about a week off due to injury, something that drew quite the negative reaction from fellow wide receiver, A.J. Brown. Now we know why Reynolds didn’t look to be in top shape.

Hopefully he can continue to recover without missing time. The Titans are relying on Reynolds to be their No. 3 receiver behind Julio Jones and Brown.
