Tennessee Titans cornerback Kristian Fulton has played well in training camp and during the preseason, putting himself in position to grab one of the starting spots in the team’s secondary in 2021.
While the former second-round pick is happy with how he has done, he made it clear that he isn’t all the way there yet and still has “much more room for improvement.”
“I think I’ve done good, just focusing on the little things each day, every day. Still, much more room for improvement,” Fulton said.
Fulton went into more detail about areas in which he can improve.
“Just not having the mental lapses on the defense, as far as knowing what you’re doing but looking too much with your eyes in the backfield… just trying to eliminate those little things out of my game, and I feel like that’s just being young in the league, you know, you’re trying to see too much…”
After an injury-shortened rookie campaign in 2020 that saw him play in just six games, the jury is still very much out on the LSU product, who the Titans are hoping will take that next step in order to help improve a secondary that struggled mightily last season.
Fulton has played 28 snaps during the preseason, totaling one pass defensed. The fact that he saw just nine plays in preseason Week 2 tells us that he’s probably set to start.
We’ll see if he gets playing time on Saturday night, when the Titans take on the Chicago Bears at Nissan Stadium in the preseason finale.
