Titans land just outside top 10 in NFL.com power rankings

March 24, 2021 by Titans Wire Leave a Comment

The Tennessee Titans have made significant improvements to their defense early on in free agency, but on the other hand they have also lost some key players on both sides of the ball.

In his power rankings that take into account moves made in free agency, Dan Hanzus of NFL.com has Tennessee just outside the top 10 of his latest power rankings, coming in at No. 11. Here’s what he had to say:

Jon Robinson swung and missed in a huge way on three key offseason moves a year ago: Jadeveon Clowney and Vic Beasley added virtually nothing to the defense, while rookie tackle Isaiah Wilson went down as one of the biggest first-round busts in NFL history. That type of stumble will put pressure on any front-office boss, so Robinson needs Bud Dupree to justify the five-year, $85 million deal he received in the first week of free agency. Like Clowney and Beasley before him, Dupree is being paid by the Titans to address the team’s pass-rush deficiencies.

The 10 teams in front of the Titans are as follows:

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  2. Kansas City Chiefs
  3. Green Bay Packers
  4. Buffalo Bills
  5. Baltimore Ravens
  6. New Orleans Saints
  7. Cleveland Browns
  8. Seattle Seahawks
  9. Los Angeles Rams
  10. Pittsburgh Steelers

With a lot of time left in this offseason, and with the 2021 NFL draft still ahead of us, the Titans can still work their way into the top 10 if general manager Jon Robinson makes the right moves moving forward.
