The Tennessee Titans announced three coaching staff moves on Friday, the most significant of which was the hiring of former NFL linebacker Chase Blackburn as their assistant special teams coach, a hiring that was reported earlier this month.
Blackburn spent the last six years on the coaching staff of the Carolina Panthers, working his way up from an assistant to the special teams coordinator.
The Akron product played 10 seasons in the NFL, including eight with the New York Giants and two with the Panthers. He’ll now work under Tennessee’s special teams coordinator, Craig Aukerman.
The Titans also announced the promotions of two coaches, Clint McMillan and Kylan Butler, both of whom were on the 2021 staff on a season-long basis but now have full-time roles.
Butler will become an offensive assistant, while McMillan will serve as the defensive line assistant.
McMillan takes over for Kenechi Udeze, while Blackburn replaces Matt Edwards, both of whom were let go earlier this offseason.
