Another week, another bunch of reasons for Tennessee Titans fans to be excited about 2022 third-round pick and quarterback, Malik Willis.
Willis got off to a rough start on Saturday night, and his offensive line did him no favors with terrible blocking the entire game, but he was solid overall, completing 7-of-17 passes for 80 yards and his first passing touchdown, while also adding a handful of carries for 52 yards.
Willis looked more decisive and his comfort level grew as the game wore on. He flashed his elite arm strength and his dynamic athleticism enabled him to escape several potential sacks.
On top of all that, Willis outshined his competition for the backup quarterback job, Logan Woodside, once again.
Our favorite play of the night came when Willis connected with tight end Chig Okonkwo for the touchdown. Willis stayed patient in the pocket, went though his progressions and found Okonkwo over the middle of the field.
For a more in-depth breakdown of Willis’ showing in each of the three quarters in which he played, our Shaun Calderon has you covered.
Now, a look at what Willis had to say about some of the things he did in the preseason Week 2 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
