Titans’ offense and defense on opposite sides of the spectrum

November 6, 2024 by Titans Wire

The Tennessee Titans are coming off their 20-17 overtime victory over the New England Patriots and raised their record to 2-6.

While the offense has looked better in recent weeks with Mason Rudolph at the helm in place of injured WIll Levis, statistically, it is still near the bottom of the league. Head coach Brian Callahan has stated that Levis will be the starter when healthy, which is the right call for the team.

With either Levis or Rudolph at quarterback, the running game will be the focus, especially now that the interior of their struggling offensive line is facing multiple changes due to injury. For the Titans to be successful, they must improve their offense, as a 27th ranking won’t cut it.

#Titans team stat ranks thru Wk. 9
Offense Defense
Total 27th 1st
Pass 31st 1st
Run 12th 11th
Pts. 27th (17.5) 27th (26.6)

Defensively, the unit has been stout, although probably not as dominant as their top ranking would indicate. The defense is definitely not the reason the Titans sit at 2-6. That unit also faces some injury issues in the secondary but showed up when needed against the Patriots. The Titans definitely have a defense that will potentially keep them in every game and at least keep them competitive.

Find out if the Titans can improve their offensive output on Sunday when they face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10 action.
