NASHVILLE. Tenn. (WKRN) — There’s no question that Cam Ward’s toughest practice as a Tennessee Titan was on Tuesday.
Ward threw three interceptions on the team’s first day in full pads.
However, one of the most important traits to have as a quarterback is amnesia.
Ward’s second day of padded practice was far from perfect.

There were several throws he’d like to have back, including one picked off by Roger McCreary.
“I just think we’re very mid right now from my position to up front to the receiver position,” Ward said. “But at the end of the day, it all starts with me. I just don’t think we’re at where we need to be, but we got a little bit of time. Every day, we get better as a whole. We’re a young team, but that’s no excuse. At the end of the day, we got to come with the right mindset every day and come to work.”
All offseason long, Titans head coach Brian Callahan has praised Ward’s ability to move on to the next play.
The good news is it’s still early.
“Everything about his mental makeup and how he operates when he makes mistakes is everything you’d want to see from a coaching perspective, and so I feel really good about how he’ll respond to any negativity in general,” Callahan said.
It’s not the time to hit the panic button just yet if you’re a Titans fan.
There will be growing pains, but Ward isn’t worried.
“The terminology, the speed of it, the play calls and how quickly you have to get in and out of the huddle, it’s getting easier every day, but I’m excited,” Ward said. “I got a good group around me.”
The Titans have one week before heading to Tampa for joint practices with the Buccaneers.
