Taylor Lewan isn’t the only notable player on the Titans being released this week. According to Jordan Schultz of theScore, the front office is also parting ways with wide receiver Robert Woods.
The Titans acquired Woods in a trade with the Rams last March.
In his only season with the Titans, Woods had 53 receptions for 527 yards and two touchdowns. To be fair, it was his first year back from a torn ACL.
By releasing Woods this offseason, the Titans will save $12 million in cap space.
Woods, 30, still has enough gas left in the tank to be a role player on another team. After all, he’s just two seasons removed from having 90 receptions for 936 yards.
As for the Titans, it’s pretty evident they’re moving on from some of their expensive veterans. That’s not a huge surprise considering they have a new general manager in Ron Carthon.
