Titans' Taylor Lewan reacts to first game action since torn ACL

August 29, 2021 by Titans Wire Leave a Comment

For the first time since tearing his ACL in Week 6 of the 2020 campaign, Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan took the field for live game action on Saturday night in the preseason finale against the Chicago Bears.

Lewan was one of two locked-in starters along the offensive line to see action, with Rodger Saffold being the other. Both veterans saw 11 snaps.

After the contest, Lewan shared his reaction to seeing the field for the first time in nearly 10 months, per Paul Kuharsky.

“I am just happy. It was literally just one of the best feelings ever,” Lewan said of returning to action. “You keep telling yourself through the process you are going to be OK, it is going to be all right, then when you are actually able to play you know it is going to be all right.”

It’s never easy for a player to come back from such a serious injury, so it was huge to see Lewan not only play, but come out of the game alright. Now, he’s ready and raring to go for his eighth season in the NFL.

Lewan’s return should excite Titans fans for many reasons, chief of which is the fact that Tennessee’s group upfront still managed to provide solid pass protection and run-blocking last season without its star left tackle.

As good as the Titans’ offensive line was in 2020, it should be even better now that “Dad” is back.
