Titans-Texans Week 12: Offense, defense and special teams snap counts

November 25, 2024 by Titans Wire

The Tennessee Titans came away with an upset victory in Week 12 over their AFC South division rival Houston Texans. The 32-27 win wasn’t an easy outing, but the Titans continue to show improvement on the field. The defense disrupted the Texans’ offense, and the offense managed to move the ball down the field and put points on the board.

Every week we can usually point to a specific moment, player, or section of the field that had the biggest impact on the game. But this week, that wasn’t the case. The entire team looked good, they looked like fatigue wasn’t a factor this week, and they looked like a completely different team than the one we saw in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears.

Now let’s take a closer look at the snap counts that contributed to the Titans’ Week 12 win.

Offensive snaps: 67
Defensive snaps: 56
Special teams snaps: 35

The offensive line saw Nicholas Petit-Frere taking 100% of the snaps at right tackle this week after Leroy Watson and John Ojukwu were unavailable, and Isaiah Prince wasn’t elevated this week. The eight sacks taken by Will Levis are the most he’s taken this season in a single game, and it’s the second time that’s happened. The Week 3 loss to the Green Bay Packers also saw Levis take eight sacks.

There was less rotation on defense this week, which isn’t all that unexpected given the injury situation, but the defense did its thing on Sunday despite its lack of depth. And it’s still an improvement to have less than five players taking 100% of the snaps, so it looks like Dennard Wilson is factoring in fatigue during games.
