The 2025 NFL Draft is entering its climax as teams gear up for the third day of the draft. Tennessee has selected its quarterback of the future while building up its defensive core thus far and has a litany of ammo to use on Saturday. How will they use that cache of picks after a spellbinding Day 2 that resulted in a duo of selections? The 2025 NFL Draft already has its share of thrills, spills, and a dramatic fall from grace. Who are the potential Day 3 selections for the Tennessee Titans?
Top Day 3 Options For The Tennessee Titans
The Titans entered Day 2 with several needs to address, and they were bold in attempting to address them. They elected to trade down from the 35th overall selection in exchange for the 52nd and 82nd picks from Seattle. What are their remaining picks as they enter Day 3?
Remaining Selections
4.103, 4.120, 5.141, 5.167, 6.178, and 6.188
Remaining Needs
Wide Receiver
- Elic Ayomanor (Stanford)
- Andrew Armstrong (Arkansas)
- Isaiah Bond (Texas)
- Tory Horton (Colorado State)
- Jeremiah Hunter (Washington)
- Xavier Restrepo (Miami)
- Jalen Royals (Utah State)
- Will Sheppard, Jr (Colorado)
- Dont’e Thornton (Tennessee)
Tennessee either declined to address their glaring need for a receiver or did not foresee a receiver run coming on Day 2. According to Ian Rapaport of NFL Network, there was some speculation that the Titans were interested in Iowa State’s Jayden Higgins before the Texans swiftly took him with the 34th selection. The move prompted the holders of the 35th pick to trade down. However, all is not lost for the receiver-starved franchise as several names remain on the board as they enter Day 3. Names such as Andrew Armstrong (virtual), Isaiah Bond (Combine), and Dont’e Thornton (30). Miami’s Xavier Restrepo looms as an option to give Cam Ward a familiar face from Miami. Thornton is of particular interest given his electrifying speed and local ties. Royals and Horton remain the top options available heading into Day 3.
Linebacker
- Teddye Buchanan (Cal)
- Jeffery Bassa (Oregon)
- Barrett Carter (Clemson)
- Kobe King (Penn State)
- Chandler Martin (Memphis)
- Smael Mondon, Jr (Georgia)
- Chris Paul, Jr (Ole Miss)
- Danny Stutsman (Oklahoma)
The linebacker position remains a mysterious need, as the depth behind projected starter Cody Barton is unproven at best. Hopefully, the Titans rectify the situation as youngsters Cedric Gray, James Williams, and Otis Reese battle it out. Fortunately, Tennessee has multiple options on the board as the linebacker class is perceived to be a weaker position group. Clemson’s Carter was a former five-star recruit from Georgia, possessing the physical traits necessary to succeed in the league. King also comes with high bona fides and should be an early to mid-day three selection. Mondon comes from a powerhouse program but hasn’t fulfilled his immense promise thanks to injury. He would be a great choice in the fourth round. Bassa, Stutsman, and Paul are three capable and versatile linebackers who can command the defense as well.
Cornerback
- Zy Alexander (LSU)
- B.J. Adams (UCF)
- Denzel Burke (Ohio State)
- Tommi Hill (Nebraska)
- Robert Longerbeam (Rutgers)
- Quincy Riley (Louisville)
- Dorian Strong (Virginia Tech)
The depth at cornerback is woefully thin given the health of L’Jarius Sneed and Chidobe Awuzie’s release from his obligations in Nashville. It could be a fool’s errand to rely on the continued development of the backups that played critical roles last season. There are several options, such as Longerbeam and Riley, with whom the team has expressed interest or has met. Strong could present as a value selection in the fourth round. Riley is a familiar face, as he is a former collegiate teammate of Jarvis Brownlee, Jr. Tennessee has a strong connection to Rutgers, having developed Jason McCourty into a starter years ago.
Running Back
- Jayden Blue (Texas)
- Jordan James (Oregon)
- Woody Marks (USC)
- Damien Martinez (Miami)
- Cam Skattebo (Arizona State)
- Dylan Sampson (Tennessee)
- Brashard Smith (SMU)
- Bhayshul Tuten (Virginia Tech)
Despite the high praise that Ward has heaped upon Tyjae Spears and Tony Pollard via streaming, the Titans need a capable third banana to spell the starters. Thankfully, Tennessee isn’t bereft of options as the running back class is unusually deep this cycle. Big names such as Skattebo, Blue, Martinez, and Marks populate the board. Martinez could get a look as Ward’s college teammate. Skattebo took the nation by storm with his charisma and on-field play. Sampson is the local tie-in and awe-inspiring athleticism. Smith and Tuten impressed evaluators at the Senior Bowl with their outstanding performances. Both prospects are on the smaller side, so Tennessee may value a back that can hammer the middle like Martinez and James. How could the Tennessee Titans finish out their Day 3?
