NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The trash talk between quarterback Cam Ward and defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons continued through the final day of Titans minicamp.
The two shared competitive banter primarily during the stretching and 7-on-7 portions of practice.

Ward and Simmons have both made it clear it’s all in the spirit of competition.
“It’s been good,” Ward said. “I need somebody like that — especially somebody like Jeff who’s going to let you know he’s there every time. He’s one of the best defensive tackles in the league —if not the best. I’m glad he’s on my team. I’m glad he’s not one of the ones who gets a chance to get a free shot at me. I’m happy I’m playing with him. I know he’s excited about my future. I can’t wait to get on the field with him on Sundays.”
Earlier this week, Simmons praised Ward for standing up to him during different drills.

“When you could have a guy with that much confidence as rookie — and I haven’t spent that much time around Cam — and we talk going back and forth, talking smack with each other and he was able to get back in the huddle and still throw the ball down the middle of the field, I think that was the most impressive thing,” Simmons said.
The Titans head to training camp on July 22.
